Sara Hawkins

Sara Hawkins serves as a Funeral Celebrant, planning and officiating personalized and meaningful funerals, memorials and celebrations of life events for families that are looking for something outside of the more traditional, “cookie-cutter” service.

Passionate about creating awareness of the value of Celebrants and creative memorials, Sara enjoys working as a Certified Celebrant Trainer with InSight Institute, equipping others across Canada to do the same. She is also an engaging Keynote Speaker and Workshop Leader, offering engaging and interactive presentations on topics both within and outside of the death care profession.

Sara earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in English and Theatre & Film from McMaster University and is working towards completing a certificate in Bereavement Education with the University of Toronto. She lives in Hamilton, Ontario with her family and enjoys flannel pajamas and a good glass of cabernet-sauvignon…especially when paired together.
